Cryotherapy
We offer a unique Cryotherapy treatment for dogs, which is commonly used by human athletes and elite teams.
TruCryo, our Cryotherapy treatment, uses liquid CO2 to rapidly cool the surface tissue to 4 degrees celsius in just 30 seconds. This induces a thermal shock reaction that triggers several responses to aid cellular repair and recovery.
Cryotherapy is not only useful in controlling inflammation during the acute stage of healing but also widely incorporated in many professional athletes' training programs and post-event to aid repair and maximize function.

How does TruCryo work?
When the cold source is removed, the blood vessels rapidly dilate to approximately four times their original diameter (vasodilation). This process results in a rush of freshly oxygenated blood supplying the tissue. This process provides hormones, neurotransmitters, and nutrients while removing unwanted waste from the area processed by the lymphatic system.
These effects optimize localised tissue to rejuvenate and restore its’ optimal function.
Injured muscle, ligament, and tendon tissue can benefit significantly from cryotherapy treatment as it can be used to control inflammation at the optimal time. The targeted tissue is supplied with all the necessary growth factors and nutrients to recover faster.
It is crucial to recognise that inflammation is also critical to the healing process and optimising treatments will maximise tissue healing and recovery.
